What do you mean "man, is the game sending up some red flags". You don't like how the characters look?

I think the character models look fine, the animation (at least on the humans) looks like shit.

So far what they have shown looks pretty mediocre.  The idea of sibling protagonists is kinda neat, but those characters look bland as fuck.  Jacob part 2 and shitty Miranda aren’t really doing anything for me either.

The premise of a new galaxy could be interesting but I’m afraid it will just be populated by the same core species (human, asari, krogan, turian) and one or two new indigenous races.  Hopefully it will actually feel like a new galaxy as opposed to the game having to tell us its a new galaxy.

EA hasn’t really done shit for marketing for what should be one of their core franchises and I remember seeing their internal estimates are for 3 million at launch when they were aiming for 6 million for ME3.  So I’m getting the impression they are concerned it might be a dud and aren’t throwing their full weight behind it.

All that said, I haven’t played the game and have only sparing looked at preview coverage so I could be completely off base.  ME’s core strengths have always been characters and world building and neither or those come across well in 1 minute trailers or 10 minutes of action gameplay (of course most of the people behind those games were either gone or half way out the door by ME3).  I’m really hoping the game is good, as Mass Effect is one of my very favorite series.  ME2 is my favorite game from last generation and I’m about a big a ME3 apologist as you find, shitty ending and all.

The internet flipped their shit about Jack’s riot grrl appearance and Freddy Prince/Vega and both of them turned out to fat nothingburgers so who knows.  Just gonna cross my fingers and hope for the best (please don’t suck).

Natalie Dormer makes a damn fine asari though.
